Booking Process for Boat Rentals
When booking a boat rental, you enter into a rental agreement with the boat owner. At SELLUX, we offer a safe and secure platform with verified users, legally binding rental agreements, and secure payment methods to ensure a smooth and hassle-free rental experience.
To begin, browse our selection of boats and choose the one that suits your needs. From there, select a date from the calendar. Please note that some boat owners may have minimum rental periods, especially for larger boats.
Once you’ve found a boat and a date that works for you, send a reservation request to the boat owner. In your request, describe your plans for the trip, whether it’s a relaxing day on the water, a vacation, or an excursion.
The boat owner will review your request and respond based on the nature of your inquiry. based on your dialogue if you are renting with him as a captain, If you’re renting without a captain, they will consider your boat operator CV and dialogue. Our system is designed to help the boat owner assess your skills and ensure that you have what it takes to operate the boat safely.
If the boat owner approves your reservation request, you can confirm the reservation by making a secure online payment via SELLUX. The reservation fee or full rental cost is required to secure the reservation.
Rest assured that you will only be charged for the rental cost once you have used the boat. This provides an added layer of security and peace of mind for renters.
Boat Damage Compensation and Maintenance
In order to make the boat rental process as convenient as possible for tenants, we have decided not to require a deposit prior to rental. However, each boat comes with a predetermined compensation amount for any damages that may occur during the rental period. By signing the rental agreement, you agree to pay up to this amount if any items are damaged or lost.
The amount of compensation for damages may vary based on several factors, such as the size and age of the boat, as well as the boat owner’s insurance policy deductible.
It is important that renters take good care of the boat and abide by all restrictions, such as those regarding pets, smoking, and the maximum number of occupants. Additionally, renters should always follow the boat owner’s instructions for final cleaning and return. Failure to do so may result in a cleaning fee, which the boat owner has the right to charge you as the renter. If you wish, SELLUX can handle the cleaning task for you.
Finally, please be aware that the boat owner may charge you for any damage compensation (or a portion of it) if the boat is not returned in the same condition as it was in when you first picked it up.
Reservation and Payment Procedure for Boat Rentals
When you send a reservation request for a boat rental, you will have the opportunity to communicate with the boat owner via a chat system. Typically, the boat owner will ask some questions about your experience and the practical details of the rental, such as handing over the keys and other necessary arrangements. The boat owner may also adjust the rental price before approving the reservation. It is important to respond to these questions in a timely manner to facilitate the booking process for both parties. You will receive email notifications for any messages sent during this stage.
Once the boat owner approves your reservation request, You will receive email notification with a payment button for the reservation fee. It is mandatory to pay the full rental amount within 24 hours of the owner’s approval for the reservation to be confirmed.
All rental payments are deposited into the SELLUX account, and the transfer of the rental income to the boat owner’s account only takes place after the rental period has ended.

Rent lease
When leasing a boat, the responsibility of creating a rental contract and determining the rental fee falls upon the boat owner. The rental agreement is between the boat owner and the individual renting the boat. SELLUX offers a convenient, pre-made digital rental contract drafted by our legal team. However, if you prefer a personalized rental agreement, our legal team is available to assist you. The entire process is done digitally, and you can sign the contract when paying online.
To secure your reservation, you can make a payment through a secure bank transfer or Swish. As a company, you also have the option of paying via credit card. The funds are then securely held in a special account by SELLUX until the end of the rental period. Only after the rental is completed will the money be transferred to the boat owner. This provides great security for you as a renter.
Delivery, payment and evaluation
Prior to each boat rental, a meticulous inspection is conducted by the boat owner and the customer to detect any possible damages or scratches. This step is crucial to prevent any confusion or misunderstandings that may arise after the rental. Upon returning the boat, a joint final inspection is conducted to ensure that everything is in order. In case of any issues, the boat owner can contact SELLUX for assistance.
Once the rental period is over, both the boat owner and the customer can provide feedback on each other’s performance. You can share your experiences and provide an evaluation of the boat and the rental process during your disembarkation. This will help us improve our services and enhance the experience for future customers.
Cancellation Policy
AWhen it comes to cancelling a boat reservation, it is always recommended that you communicate with the boat owner first and try to reach an agreement. The agreement that you make is strictly between you and the boat owner.
While you have the option to cancel the reservation, it’s important to note that the boat owner is entitled to withhold 30% of the rental amount if the cancellation is made 15 days before the scheduled departure. In the event that the cancellation is made less than 15 days before the departure, the boat owner has the right to withhold the entire rental amount (100% of the rental). It’s advisable to check your home insurance to see if you have any cancellation protection.
However, in certain circumstances, you as the tenant have the right to demand the cancellation of the reservation and receive a full refund of the rental amount (100% of the rental). This can be due to unforeseeable circumstances beyond your control or if the boat is not in the expected condition.
